This young family was outgrowing their existing home so decided to extend to accommodate the needs of the family.
After initially employing an architect, Jo Frances came on board to tweak the plans to make a scheme that was more suited to the family and their lifestyle.
With the interiors, one of the main areas of focus was the living room. The client wanted a sumptuous, warm room that would be family friendly but could also create an atmospheric, intimate environment for entertaining. In addition the client wanted something totally unique.
To achieve this we designed and had made hand-painted wallpaper and silk fabric, with a Japanese cherry blossom style pattern in warm purples and pinks against a rich gold background. This meant that the design could be positioned on the walls and curtains to suit the layout of the room.
Bespoke chairs and sofas were upholstered in a range of plum velvets and purple fabrics to complement the flower colours in the wallpaper and curtain fabric to create a serene, luxurious feel.
In contrast, the annexe was to be used as a multi functional work and chill-out space. A large black leather sofa and smuggler armchair are offset by a vibrant striped carpet, creating the illusion of additional space whilst making it a fun, energising workroom.
