Tracking the journey from idea to the finished article?
Following our recent trip to Chelsea Harbour for the launch of September's collections, we thought we'd do a short focus on some of the fabrics and wallcoverings that caught our eye.
In Focus - Zoffany. The inspiration behind this collection of sublime fabrics comes from nature as often it does. In this case, the study of stones and minerals.
"Underlying classical influences lie deep within the soul of this collection; it is the mastery of colour and the artistry of the reinterpretation of the fabrics and wallpapers that elevate it to a contemporary setting. This collection was particularly important for Zoffany as whilst curating ‘Phaedra’ the studio extensively experimented with colour, using an abundance of techniques and shade variations to craft the authentic Zoffany colour palette that resonates throughout the new range, and which will be built upon for future collections."
"The Zoffany colours have evolved through experimental work with natural plant dyes and by taking inspiration from organic stones and minerals. The highlight tones of ‘Tiger’s Eye’, ‘Malachite’, ‘Koi’, ‘Sunstone’ and ‘Prussian Blue’ were first drawn from the jewel tones found in historical documents from the Zoffany archive, and as the Zoffany palette was meticulously crafted the studio developed these tinctures into more kinetic, richer shades."
